Time (somewhat less) well spent.

Hailey is a fabulous four year old little girl in need of a service dog. She loves animals and connects to them in such a beautiful way. Hailey is an active child who loves to explore the world around her although she is not aware of the dangers. She has special needs with autistic traits. She also has coordination and motor planning issues that make every day life difficult. Currently, Hailey is non-verbal although communicates through sign, pictures and voice out-put machines. Album of the Week #009

Another one of my all-time favourite albums. It mixes a lot of elements of modern music (that I like) together: monster guitar riffs, cool samples, rap, pop culture references, dance beats and an interesting band name. My brother bought this album when we were young teens during a visit to London and a stop at the legendary Dr. Disc. We’d never heard of them before, nor heard their music, but we though the band name was pretty cool and we had money in our pockets. One of the best $9.99 ever spent! Although by today’s standards the production isn’t as slick or sophisticated, this album is still awesome!

Album of the Week #008

Since I was on holidays, I missed a week. But, this week’s selection should give at least 2 weeks worth of listening pleasure. It’s the combination of a couple of stellar DJs using no less than 6 turntables and the rhythm section from Wolfmother. It’s electronica and rock infused with old school blues. They combination of styles and the technical wizardry needs to be heard to be believed. This is one of the few newer albums that can be listened to over and over again, but I think will also be one of those albums I’ll be able to queue up anytime in the future and it will still be awesome!

Album of the Week #007

This week’s album is The House That Dirt Built by the Heavy. Pure listening joy. Some songs sound like they are done by a different band, making the album eclectic, but still fitting together. Garage rock and some good old time R&B are the main influences, but there is some hip hop, funk, soul and raggae mixed in for good measure. The combination of the influences is infectious and delivered perfectly.
